Rule 23
Provisions relating to preliminary hearing

(1) After the indictment has been filed and the statement of the accused has been made, the military court will conduct a preliminary hearing of the case, and in the course of the preliminary hearing, the military court may make one of the following orders in accordance with Schedule-7, after considering the amount of the offense and the circumstances of the offense:-
(a) To remand the accused on a date,
(b) To summon the accused when required or to appear at a specific time without fixing a date,
(c) to demand bail or bail from the accused,
(d) If there is a possibility of the accused escaping or destroying the evidence, or if he is found guilty, he should be detained and tried.
(2) The military court shall read the order made according to sub-rule (1) to the accused and keep the document that the order has been heard.
