Rule 7
Criteria for Registration of Savings and Savings Cooperative Institutions
: (1) In the case of a metropolitan city or a sub-metropolitan city, based on the population of each ward, no more than one institution for every 5,000 population, in the case of a municipality, no more than one institution for every 2,000 population, and in the case of a rural municipality, one institution for every 500 population. Organizations that deal mainly in savings and loans will be registered so as not to increase the number of institutions. (2) When determining the number of organizations in accordance with sub-rule (1), in the metropolitan city and sub-metropolitan city, only those organizations whose scope of operation is limited within the district and offices within the ward, and in the case of rural municipality or municipality, the scope of operation is limited within the respective rural municipality or municipality, and which are registered in the common bond of the neighborhood or residence, are the main business of saving and thrift. (3) Institutions that do the main business of savings and loans that exceed the criteria as per sub-rule (1) and (2) must be integrated in accordance with rule 39 within three years.
