Rule 15
The minimum service period required to be a candidate for promotion
: (1) To be promoted to the following post in the Air Force, the following service period must be reached and the post must be employed in a position below one level:- Post to be promoted Authorized service period
(a) Above twenty-one years
(b) Assistant Rathi Twenty years
(c) Mahasenani Sessional Year (d) Chief Soldier Thirteen years
(e) Soldier Seven years
(f) Sahasenani Two years
(2) For promotion to the following posts in the Air Force Service, the following service period should be reached:- Post to be promoted Service period
(a) Subedar nine years
(b) Tenure for two years (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (a) of sub-rule (2), a person who has been appointed to the post of Jamdar through open competition and has completed five years of service may be a candidate for promotion to the post of Subedar.
(a) Above twenty-one years
(b) Assistant Rathi Twenty years
(c) Mahasenani Sessional Year (d) Chief Soldier Thirteen years
(e) Soldier Seven years
(f) Sahasenani Two years
(2) For promotion to the following posts in the Air Force Service, the following service period should be reached:- Post to be promoted Service period
(a) Subedar nine years
(b) Tenure for two years (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (a) of sub-rule (2), a person who has been appointed to the post of Jamdar through open competition and has completed five years of service may be a candidate for promotion to the post of Subedar.
