Section 518
Voidable Contract

(1) A contract which can be declared void by the court at the effort of the parties to the contract shall be considered a voidable contract.
(2) A person who is aggrieved by such an agreement can have it annulled by the court:-
(a) Agreement by coercion, Explanation: Withholding or threatening to withhold the property of a person with the intention of forcing him to enter into an agreement against his will or threatening to harm his life, life or honor or doing or threatening to do any other act against the law If it is, it should be remembered that it has been done.
(b) Agreement by undue influence, Explanation:
(1) The influence exerted on such a person with the intention of obtaining any unfair advantage for his own interest or self-interest from a person who is under his influence and can be made to act according to his will shall be termed as undue influence.
(2) Without prejudice to the generality of clause (1), the following persons shall be deemed to be persons under his influence and who can be made to act at will:-
(a) a person under his guardianship, mathwari or jimma,
(b) a person who is temporarily or permanently unable to consider his own interests due to old age, infirmity or physical or mental infirmity,
(c) A person who can be financially or officially pressured by him.
(c) Fraudulent contract, explanation: The party entering into the contract or his representative knowing that something is not true with the intention of deceiving the other party or his representative has made him believe that such thing is true or has taken any action that may lead to belief or about any fact. If you knowingly conceal such facts or do any other act of fraud under the law, it shall be considered as fraud.
(d) Contract that has been bent. Explanation: The following works should be considered as bent:- (1) Giving a false description or fact of anything without reasonable grounds,
(2) misleading a party to the detriment of a party,
(3) Made a mistake in the content of the contract,
(4) Making an agreement on another matter on the belief that there is an agreement on one matter.
(3) In the case of contracts that can be canceled according to this section, the following shall be as follows:-
(a) The party to whom the contract is made may request performance in the same manner as his position was before such contract without canceling the contract,
(b) If someone enters into an agreement with a person under his influence and who can make him act according to his will, the burden of proving that such agreement was not entered into under undue influence shall be on the party who is not under such undue influence.
(4) A voidable contract shall be executed in the same way as a contract according to law until it is voidable.
(5) If a contract that can be canceled according to this section is canceled by the court, the work done according to the contract before the cancellation will not be affected.
(6) If any contract is voided in accordance with this section, the legal rights or interests of the third party will not be adversely affected merely because of such voiding.
