Rule 33
Petition for Detention

(1) If a person is detained in violation of the law, the detainee concerned may submit a petition to the relevant authority for the release of that person from detention. But if the detainee himself is unable to submit the application, his relatives or interested persons who have information about the same can submit the application on behalf of the detainee.
(2) In the application under sub-rule (1), in addition to the things mentioned in rule 13, the following things should be disclosed as clearly as possible:-
(a) By whom, since when and under what circumstances has the prisoner been detained?
(b) In which place is the prisoner confined?
(c) Has the prisoner been kept in detention with food and water deprived or subjected to any kind of physical or mental torture or not?
(d) He has filed a petition in the court regarding that detention, has he not? If given, what has been the result?
