In addition to the functions, duties and powers mentioned elsewhere in this Act, the functions, duties and powers of the Board shall be as follows:-
(a) To make necessary suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the policy to be adopted for the development and expansion of railways and railway services, (b) To carry out work related to the construction of necessary structures for the operation of railway services,
(c) To operate and provide railway services in a safe, efficient, regular and reliable manner (d) To coordinate with the provincial government and local level regarding the expansion and operation of railway services,
(e) To carry out maintenance of structures related to railway operation (f) To approve the annual plan, program and budget of the Board (g) To monitor and evaluate the plans and programs run under the Board, and
(h) To do other work as specified.
