(1) After the election officer starts the counting of votes, he shall continue to count the votes until the counting of the votes is finished.
(2) If due to uncontrollable circumstances, the work of counting of votes has to be stopped in the middle, the election officer shall seal the counted ballots, the counting records, the ballots that are yet to be counted, and the attachments of the ballot boxes that are yet to be counted, in separate envelopes, bags or sacks and put his stamp on them. Candidates, election representatives or counting representatives can also put their stamp on such envelopes, bags or sacks.
(3) The election officer shall resume the counting of votes stopped as per sub-section (2) as soon as possible. The Election Officer shall give the notice of re-starting of counting of votes to the candidate, election representative or counting representative present at such place and also publish it at the place of counting of votes. However, it shall not be considered that the work of counting of votes has been hindered because no candidate, representative of the candidate or representative of the party has come to attend.
