Rule 7
Duties, Duties and Powers of Polling Officer
(1) In addition to the duties, duties and rights mentioned elsewhere in the Act and these regulations, other duties, duties and rights of the polling officer shall be as follows:-
(a) Participate in election related training and orientation program after being appointed as polling officer (b) Receiving and accepting the election materials including ballot papers provided by the election officer's office,
(c) Receiving and understanding other election materials related to the polling station provided by the election office (d) Coordinating with the assistant polling officer assigned to him at the polling station, other staff and security personnel,
(e) Arriving at the polling station assigned to him within the specified time and constructing the polling station in the manner prescribed by the Commission,
(f) If due to security, geographical difficulties and any other reason the election cannot be held at the designated polling center and another polling center needs to be set up immediately, inform the election officer immediately.
(g) To appoint volunteers in such number as may be prescribed by the Commission to assist in polling (h) To coordinate with the local representatives of the parties and candidates to carry out the voting process in a smooth manner (i) To continuously monitor the voting process carefully to ensure smooth progress of the voting process,
(j) To inform the Election Officer from time to time about the voting activities on the day of polling (k) To inform the various mobile teams, observers, journalists, monitors and security personnel who come to the polling station on the day of the polling about the state of the polling work,
(l) Conducting clean, fair and free polling in the polling station (D) After the completion of the voting process, according to the guidelines approved by the commission, the ballot boxes and other election materials shall be sealed as required and delivered to the election officer in a safe manner.
(l) Prevailing legal provisions and orders passed by the Commission from time to timeOr to complete voting work under instructions.
(2) It shall be the duty of the Assistant Polling Officer to assist the Polling Officer to complete the polling work under the direct guidance of the Polling Officer.
(3) If the polling officer is unable to conduct the voting due to circumstances beyond his control, the assistant polling officer shall complete all the tasks prescribed by the polling officer in accordance with the Act and these regulations.
(4) According to sub-rule (3), the polling officer or the assistant polling officer shall immediately inform the election officer that the polling officer has not been able to perform the work.
