(1) The Election Officer may appoint polling officers or assistant polling officers to employees of the Government of Nepal, State Government and local level, or employees of institutions owned or controlled by the Government of Nepal or State Government or run by the grant of the Government of Nepal, or teachers or employees of universities or community schools.< br> (2) When appointing polling officer or assistant polling officer in accordance with sub-section (1), in the case of employees, the appointment shall be made in the respective ward of the place where their home address is, and in the case of teachers, the appointment shall not be in the respective ward of the place where they work and their home address.
(3) The polling officer and assistant polling officer appointed in accordance with sub-section (1) shall carry out all work related to polling as prescribed by this Act and the rules or orders issued under this Act in a clean, fair and independent manner.
(4) Other duties, duties and rights of polling officers and assistant polling officers shall be as mentioned in the orders, instructions and guidelines issued by the Commission.
