(1) After the commencement of the counting of votes, the election officer shall check the ballot box with the ballot paper in the hand of the present candidate, election representative or counting representative as follows:-
(a) the ballot box of each polling station has been opened or tampered with, not,
(b) the ballot box mentions the name of the polling station, the code number and the number of the ballot box, no,
(c) Is the security seal affixed at the place where the ballot box is closed, correct? No.
(2) The election officer shall keep a certificate of checking the ballot box according to sub-rule (1).
(3) If any defect is found while checking the ballot box according to sub-rule (1), the same should be opened and duly stamped by the candidate, election representative or counting representative. After the bond is prepared, such ballot boxes should be kept in a safe place.
