Section 44
If the ballot box is damaged or vandalized

(1) If a ballot box used for voting in a polling station is accidentally damaged or damaged by deliberate vandalism, the polling officer shall immediately report the incident to the concerned election officer.
(2) If a report as per sub-section (1) is received or if the ballot box used for voting which has been submitted to the election officer is taken away in any way, if it is deliberately vandalized and damaged or if there is an accidental loss, the election officer shall immediately cancel the polling of such polling station and submit a report thereof to the Commission. .
(3) In the polling station where the polling has been canceled according to sub-section (2), the election officer shall immediately publish a notice of the date and time of re-voting in such polling station.
