(1) The duties, duties and powers of the Director General shall be to collect, process, collect and statistically improve, analyze and publish the data approved by the Government of Nepal.

(2) Without having any adverse effect on the generality of the matters written in sub-rule (1), the Director General may, in particular, do the following:-

(a) Advise the Government of Nepal on matters related to statistics, b) State of Nepal or its Conducting a statistical survey of economic, social and population etc. in any part and collecting and distributing the related data,
(c) Preparation of statistical reports,
(d) Arranging for taking national censuses (population, agriculture, industry, trade, transport and all other necessary censuses) and conducting them,
(e) To raise the level of national statistics by doing research on statistics and to publish related figures (data),
(f) To prepare the necessary program to improve the national statistics,
(g) To keep a record of statistics which should remain permanent,
(h) Compile and publish statistical matters (i) Sharing, providing and promoting and disseminating news and publications related to statistics.
