. In section 5 of the original Act,-

(1) after sub-section (1) the following sub-sections (1A) and (1B) are added:- “(1A) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the prescribed Appointed assistant level employees who are eligible may be designated as prescribed.

(1B) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-sections (1) and (1A), after the commencement of this sub-section, the rural health under the third level health inspection group. Workers and maternal and child workers under the Community Nursing Group will be maintained at the fourth level and designated as Auxiliary Health Workers (AHEW) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) respectively.”

(2) In sub-section (2), the words "by the Ministry" have been replaced by the words "by the Government of Nepal".
(3) After sub-section (2) the following sub-section (3) shall be added:-

“(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (2), the work currently done by rural health workers and maternal and child workers respectively shall be deemed to be auxiliary health. The Ministry will prepare and implement their job descriptions as done by the Nurse Midwives and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives.
