Rule 20D
RECOMMENDATION FOR REVOCATION OF APPROVAL TO RUN MEDICAL COLLEGE

(1) If the medical college granted recognition by the council fails to meet the standards and infrastructure within the period specified by the council or if the examination or full recognition of such medical college is revoked, the council will recommend to the government of Nepal for the cancellation of the approval given by the government of Nepal to operate such medical college.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (1), prior to recommending the cancellation of the approval of a medical college, the Council shall give a reasonable deadline to the concerned medical college as per the inspection report submitted by the inspection team before the Government of Nepal for the cancellation of the approval received from the Government of Nepal to operate such a medical college. He will demand an explanation as to why it should not be recommended.
(3) According to sub-rule (2), if the explanation is not submitted as requested by the council or if the submitted explanation is not satisfactory, based on the inspection report, the council may submit a recommendation to the Government of Nepal for revoking the approval that such medical college is not suitable for operation.
(4) Upon receipt of the recommendation submitted as per sub-rule (3), the Government of Nepal, if deemed necessary, may request clarification from the concerned medical college after giving a reasonable deadline and if the clarification is received, it shall consider the same and if any further investigation is required, the necessary investigation shall be conducted based on the same. The Government of Nepal can revoke the approval of the operation of such a medical college.
