Section 49
Prohibited Activities in National Forests
Except as otherwise provided in this Act or the rules made under this Act, no one shall carry out or cause the following activities in the National Forests, and shall not engage in any industry to cause them to be done. If any such action is taken, it will be considered as an offence:-
(a) To tear, plough, dig or cultivate the land of the forest area or to build a house on such land.
(b) setting fire or doing any act likely to cause fire.
(c) To bring or graze cattle within the designated forest area.
(d) To remove forest produce from the forest area, transport it or distribute it for sale.
(e) to cut down trees or plants, remove weeds, remove trunks or bark or damage them in any way.
(f) To damage any other forest produce by negligence while cutting, felling, dragging or taking trees out of the forest area after obtaining a permit.
(g) To remove stones, gravel, sand or soil, to burn stones or lime or to make other preparations from these items or to decompose these items.
(h) To damage the forest produce by violating the conditions of the permit for taking forest produce.
(i) To export the forest produce which is prohibited to export abroad.
(j) To uproot, move, change, erase or damage forest boundary marks.
(k) To cut, rot, uproot or damage in any other way the plants in the nursery or plantation.
(l) To damage or steal poles, wire fences or other such property in nursery or plantation areas.
(d) To make a mark or sign or to change, deface or erase the official mark, mark or sign affixed to a wood or standing tree.
(d) To play hunting.
(n) Violation of this Act and the rules made under this Act to commit any other offence.
