Section 6
Marriage application book
: (1) The marriage officer should keep the application received in the marriage application book of the prescribed format in the records of his office. Such application book should be shown free of cost to anyone who wants to inspect it.
(2) The marriage officer must decide whether or not to perform the marriage within seven days of receiving the application according to section 5.
(3) If the marriage officer refuses to perform the marriage on the grounds that the proposed marriage is contrary to the prevailing Nepalese law, any party to the proposed marriage may appeal to the relevant district court within thirty days of such refusal. In such a case, the decision of the district court will be final and the marriage officer will perform according to the decision of the district court.
(2) The marriage officer must decide whether or not to perform the marriage within seven days of receiving the application according to section 5.
(3) If the marriage officer refuses to perform the marriage on the grounds that the proposed marriage is contrary to the prevailing Nepalese law, any party to the proposed marriage may appeal to the relevant district court within thirty days of such refusal.
