Rule 144
Duties, Duties and Rights of Wage Law Practitioners

(1) The salaried legal practitioner shall work in the legal aid branch throughout the office hours.
(2) The work, duties and rights of the wage law practitioner shall be as follows:-
(a) On the basis of the application given by the parties or in the cases prescribed by the Chief Justice, Bench or Chief Registrar, to prepare the necessary legal documents on behalf of the helpless, disabled, minor, economically disadvantaged or imprisoned person, (b) to advise the person referred to in clause (a) on matters relating to the case,
(c) to inform the person referred to in clause (a) about the status of the proceedings,
(d) To provide legal aid to the helpless and incapacitated party in the prison prescribed by the court.
(3) According to the prevailing law, the conduct to be followed by legal practitioners should also be followed by paid legal practitioners.
(4) A salaried legal practitioner shall be entitled to study or copy any document free of charge for the purpose of providing legal aid.
(5) The salaried law practitioner shall submit a report to the court every month detailing the progress of every work he has done, the difficulties encountered in providing legal assistance and the measures to resolve those difficulties.
