Section 6
Maintaining peace and security
:
(1) The Chief District Officer should do the following to prevent any violent action or suspected rioting:
(a) If there is a possibility of a disturbance of the peace by any assembly, procession or crowd taking violent or destructive tendencies, he shall be stopped by the police and if the police cannot control it, he shall immediately go to the concerned place himself or send his subordinate officers to restore peace as much as possible and if unable to do so, with the help of the police, stick Charges, tear gas, fountains and aerial fire are used to maintain peace by using whatever force is necessary according to the needs and circumstances,

(1a) According to sub-section (1), the Chief District Officer shall immediately inform the "Ministry" of the work done in relation to maintaining peace and security, and it shall be the duty of the Chief District Officer to comply with the instructions given by the regional "Ministry" in this regard.
(2) If the Chief District Officer feels that a serious disturbance has occurred or is likely to occur in any place within his jurisdiction and that it is not possible to stop the peace happening in that place or to prevent the disturbance only with the help of other police, he shall disclose the reasons and basis for this, he shall inform the local or nearby armed police or the situation According to NepAli will be able to ask for the help of the army. In the case of asking for the help of the Armed Police or the Nepali Army, the regional administrator and the Ministry of Home Affairs must be notified within twenty-four hours by the fastest means.

(3a) In case of riot or disturbance in any place or if there is sufficient basis to cause such situation, the Chief District Officer may issue an order to specify the area and time so that no more than five people can gather in one place for the purpose of causing riot or disturbance in that area and time. The chief district officer may punish the person who violates such order with a fine up to five hundred rupees or imprisonment up to one month or both.
(4) According to sub-section (3), when the Chief District Officer issues an order to someone, he must send a notice in writing to the concerned person. If the concerned person is not found, the notice should be posted according to the prevailing Nepal law so that the work is not stopped. The officer who issued the order may impose a fine not exceeding fifty rupees on the person who violates such order.
(5) If it is known that there is or is going to be a dispute about the land, land, water, water and border within the district, the chief district officer shall bring the relevant parties to his office as soon as possible and take statements and, as necessary, seize the related property for a period of three months. 6. (6) A person who is not satisfied with the order or punishment given by the Chief District Officer under sub-sections (3), (3A), (4) and (5) may appeal to the concerned District Court within thirty-five days.
(7) In each district, there will be a security committee as follows to assist in maintaining peace and order:-
(a) Chief District Officer – Chairman (b) Local Chief of Nepali Army – Member
(c) Head of District Police Office - Member
(d) Local Head of Armed Police Office – Member
(e) Head of District Office of National Research Department - Member
(f) Assistant Chief District Officer – Member – Secretary

(9) The Chief District Officer can invite officials from other offices in the district as per the need in the meeting of the District Security Committee.
(10) The meeting of the committee as per sub-section (7) may be called by the Chief District Officer as required.
