: The District Forest Controller may issue a Hunting Guide Permit to a person on the basis of the following, taking the form as per Schedule (1) and the officer issuing the Hunting Guide Permit shall send a copy of such permit to the chief.
(a) If the applicant is believed to be familiar with hunting wild animals or birds within the area in which he wishes to work,
(b) If the applicant is knowledgeable about the Act and the rules made under the Act and is capable of acting as a hunting guide. 2 According to sub-rule 1, a person who has obtained a hunting guide license will be allowed to work as a guide to hunters only in the district or districts specified in the license. 3 The chief or any officer appointed by the Government of Nepal for that purpose may prescribe additional conditions and restrictions to be followed by the person who receives the hunting guide license according to sub-rule 1, and in any case except for self-defense and to prevent the escape of wild animals injured by the person who receives the hunting license. They are also not allowed to hunt any wild animals.
