Rule 24
<br> which may impose fees or charges
The council may determine and collect the following fees or charges for the purpose of long-term protection and management of conservation areas:-
(a) Entrance fee for tourist entry within protected areas,
(b) Sanitation fees received from climbers and trekkers,
(c) the fee for permission to collect and transport forest produce and herbs within the conservation area,
(d) application for permission to shoot documentary or feature film for commercial purposes within protected areas,
(e) Procedure for landing helicopters or other equipment within protected areas,
(f) Procedure for permitting any other recreational or exciting activity (bungee jumping, mountain biking, canoeing, skiing, rock climbing, hang gliding, para gliding, etc.) within the protected area,
(G) Procedure for granting permission to operate tourism services within the conservation area,
(h) Procedure for granting permission to operate small hydropower project within conservation area,
(i) Fees received from the sale of energy produced by the council itself or from other sources of energy (small hydropower, solar energy, wind energy, etc.), and
(j) Fees or charges received for other matters specified with the approval of the Ministry.
(2) Permits for any of the things mentioned in sub-rule (1) shall be issued and collected in the name of the conservation area and collected in the account of the council in accordance with section 25A of the Act, as determined by the Ministry. (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1) or (2), no fee shall be levied in respect of rescue operations.
