(1) The term of office of nominated or elected members of the Council shall be four years. They may be re-nominated or elected after the expiry of their term of office. However, a member nominated by the Government of Nepal may be removed from membership by the Government of Nepal by showing reasonable cause.

(2) If the position of a member becomes vacant without the expiry of the term of office, another member shall be nominated or elected for the remainder of the term.
