(1) Before participating in the meeting of the Provincial Assembly or any of its committees, the member shall take an oath before the person presiding over the Provincial Assembly in the format as per Schedule-2. However, the member according to sub-section (5) of Article 182 of the Constitution must take an oath before the head of the province.
(2) If a member wishes to take the oath in his mother tongue, such member shall translate the oath as per sub-section (1) into his mother tongue and provide a copy of the translation to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat three days before participating in the first meeting of the Provincial Assembly or any of its committees.
(3) After taking the oath according to this section, the member shall sign the copy of the oath taken and submit it to the person presiding over the Provincial Assembly.
(4) If a member takes an oath in his mother tongue, he shall sign and submit copies of the oath in Nepali language and other Nepali mother tongue to the person presiding over the Provincial Assembly.
(5) The Provincial Assembly Secretariat shall keep the records of the oath taken by the members in accordance with this section.
