Before issuing an order to punish a working journalist, the manager should state the reason for taking action and give the working journalist an opportunity to present his explanation by giving a reasonable deadline. When given an opportunity like this, the accusations leveled against him should be clearly stated and the basis of each accusation should also be disclosed.
