The work, duties and rights of the Committee shall be as follows:-
(a) Formulating, implementing, coordinating and monitoring welfare activities and income-generating activities and welfare plans as specified,
(b) To carry out necessary welfare work related to the families of soldiers who died or were disabled while engaged in military activities,
(c) Reduction, increase or removal of facilities and amenities under welfare work,
(d) Formulating and implementing procedures and guidelines necessary for conducting welfare work, income-generating work and welfare plan,
(e) To carry out welfare work on the land and physical infrastructure being used by the Nepali Army by making an agreement with the Nepali military base,
(f) Establishing an administrative, financial and technical unit as required to conduct welfare work, income-generating work and welfare plan, appointing the necessary manpower for that unit and determining their services, conditions and wages,
(g) Appointing experts for effective implementation of welfare work, welfare plan and income-generating work and determining their services, conditions and remuneration,
(h) Deploying active military personnel as needed for the security of the welfare work, income-generating work and the place where the welfare scheme is conducted,
(i) Acquiring, purchasing, restoring, using and selling movable and immovable property subject to this Act,
(j) To perform other tasks as specified.
