Section 15
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Committee
In addition to the functions, duties and powers mentioned elsewhere in this Act, the functions, duties and powers of the Committee shall be as follows:-
(a) Prepare the annual plan, program and budget of the council and prepare the sports schedule and submit it to the council for approval,
(b) to execute, cause,
the decisions of the Council (c) To organize and participate in national and international level sports competitions,
(d) To send athletes, coaches, managers and other representatives to participate in international level sports competitions from the sources of the Nepal government with the approval of the Ministry,
(e) Protecting, operating and maintaining Council's fund, players' welfare fund, movable and immovable property,
(f) To coordinate between various bodies in the development, expansion and operation of sports,
(g) Periodically review the sports activities conducted by the Council,
(h) To provide scholarship, financial or other assistance to sports related organizations or athletes subject to the approved standards of the Council,
(i) Study and research related to sports, conduct,
(h) Training from local and foreign coaches as needed to upgrade the players and selecting suitable players and sending them to foreign countries for training as needed.
(k) Awarding the athletes who have won medals in national and international level sports competitions and arranging the necessary arrangements for the development of the athletes,
(5) Making necessary arrangements to develop recreational, traditional and adventure sports as sports tourism (d) Encouraging increased private sector participation and investment opportunities in sports (d) Conducting training programs related to sports and promoting the benefits of sports (n) Providing necessary training to encourage the participation of persons with disabilities in sports and competition among such personsTo organize various sports competitions,
(p) Coordinating between association, state and local levels regarding infrastructure construction, training, competition planning,
(h) To coordinate and cooperate with the state government and local level sports-related agencies and organizations in the development and expansion of sports,
(d) to send representatives to the convention of the National Sports Association or Federation,
(d) To perform other tasks as specified.
