(1) According to section 23 of the Act, a Child Labor Prevention Committee to provide the health, safety, education, professional training of the children working in the establishment, to provide suitable employment for the children, to discourage the employment of children and to suggest an opinion to the Government of Nepal regarding the prevention of child labor. It will remain: –
(a) Secretary, Ministry of Labor and Transport, - Chairman
(b) Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labor and Transport (See Labor Relations and Child Labor Prevention Branch), – Member
(c) Director General, Department of Labor and Employment Promotion, – Membership (d) Representative, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare - Member (e) Representative, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, – Member
(f) Two representatives of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, - Member
(g) Four representatives of TED Union Federation, – Member
(h) One representative officer designated by the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations working in the field of children and child labour, – Member
(i) Officials designated by the Government of Nepal - Member - Secretary
(2) The committee may invite experts in related subjects to its meetings as needed.
