(1) If the non-payment of the promissory note has been certified by a notary public, any other person may pay it for the sake of the honor of the person who is to be paid. However, before making the payment in this way, he or his agent must state in the records of the notary public that the payment has been made for the honor of such and such person. (2) When paying according to sub-section (1), the paying party will get all the rights of the holder and he will be entitled to recover from the person in whose honor the payment was made, the amount paid, the interest thereof and all expenses incurred in that regard.
