(1) In the case of the following project-related applications among the applications submitted in accordance with Rule 4, 5 or 6, the Director General shall issue a survey permit for generation, transmission or distribution of electricity in accordance with the request of the applicant or, if necessary, with amendments, if he deems it necessary to issue a permit in accordance with Rule 7:-< br> (a) hydropower generation up to one hundred megawatts other than reservoir or multi-purpose,
(b) Electricity generation from solar power, wind power, biomass and waste,
(c) Transmission of electricity,
(d) Electricity distribution.
(2) In the case of applications submitted under Rule 4, except for the project-related applications mentioned in clauses (a) and (b) of Sub-rule (1), the Director General shall scrutinize them in accordance with Rule 7 and submit them to the Secretary with recommendations.
(3) If the Secretary deems it necessary to issue an electricity survey permit in relation to the project submitted in accordance with sub-rule (2), the permit shall be issued according to the request of the applicant or with amendments if necessary.
(4) The format of the survey permit for the production, transmission or distribution of electricity given in accordance with sub-rules (1) and (3) shall be as per Schedule-5(a), Schedule-5(b) and Schedule-5(c) respectively. 
