In these regulations, unless the subject or the context requires otherwise,-
(a) "Act" means the Electricity Act, 2049.
(b) "Electricity Development Department" means the Department of Electricity Development under the Ministry of Energy to operate the hydropower development unit as per Section 36 of the Act.
(c) "Secretary" means the Secretary of the Ministry of Energy (d) "Surveying" means survey work for power generation, transmission and distribution and the term also includes feasibility study, detailed engineering design work and exploration work for the same.
(e) "Generation, transmission or distribution of electricity" means construction, operation and maintenance of structures related to generation, transmission or distribution of electricity.
(f) "Distribution area" means the area mentioned in the electricity distribution permit.
(g) "Wiring" means the act of connecting electrical equipment for the supply of electricity to the customer's house, compound, factory or any other similar place.
(h) "Unit" means electrical energy consumed when one thousand watts of electrical power is operated for one hour.
(i) "Energy measuring device" means a device (meter) that shows the unit of electricity consumption.
(j) "Earthing" means the act of connecting a wire log to the ground at a certain depth to eliminate the danger caused by electric power.
(k) "Establishment" shall refer to the aggregate form of equipment, materials and systems for generation, transmission, transformation or distribution of electricity.
(l) "Director General" means Director General of Power Development Department.
