Section 37
List of Vehicles

(1) If the owner of a vehicle registered in accordance with this Act donates or sells his vehicle to someone else or transfers the ownership in any other manner, within fifteen days, the registration certificate and vehicle tax payment slip shall be attached to the authorized officer in the prescribed format for the registration of the said vehicle. Application should be given.
(2) After the death of the owner of the vehicle, the owner in whose name the ownership should be transferred shall attach the proof of the death of the owner of the vehicle, the certificate of registration and the receipt of vehicle tax payment and the proof that he is the nearest owner within thirty-five days from the date of the death of the owner of the vehicle. In order to get the vehicle registered in your name, you have to submit an application to the authorized officer in the prescribed format.
(3) If an application for registration is made as per sub-section (1) or (2), the authorized officer shall carry out the necessary investigation and register the name in the certificate of registration after taking the prescribed documents. However, if there is an application of more than one equal rights holder for registration according to sub-section (2), such vehicle should be jointly registered and registered in the name of all those rights holders.
(4) In case of transfer of name of a vehicle according to sub-section (3), the transfer of ownership and transfer of name should be indicated in the registration book.
(5) In the context of renaming a vehicle in accordance with this section, if the authorized officer investigates that there is any issue related to the transfer of title to that vehicle, such vehicle shall not be retitled in any person's name until the final resolution of such issue.
