Rule 6
Issuing ordinary passports

(1) According to rule 4 or 5, the department will issue ordinary passports to Nepali citizens after examining the application form for ordinary passports.
(2) (In the event that an ordinary passport cannot be issued due to insufficient procedures or failure to submit the necessary documents during the investigation according to sub-rule (1), the department shall inform the applicant of the same in the application. If the ordinary passport cannot be issued, the fee submitted with the application will not be returned.
(3) The concerned person must take it within one year from the date of issuance of the ordinary passport by the department. (4) Fees as per Schedule-4 will be charged for ordinary passports.
(5) The department will generally issue an ordinary passport within seven days of receiving the application.
(6) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (5), if anyone wishes to issue a passport earlier than seven days, if an application is submitted to the department along with the fee as per Schedule-4, the department will issue the passport within the following period:-
(a) Fast in three days, (b) Fast in two days, (c) Urgent in one day.
