Rule 20
Provision of service
: (1) The service provider providing the service as the first service point shall provide the treatment service to the insured.
(2) If the service provider as per sub-rule (1) is not able to provide the necessary health care services to the insured, he shall send the same to the nearest service provider where such service is available by filling out the remittance form as per Schedule-9. (3) The service provider other than the first service point shall provide service to the insured only on the basis of remittance as per sub-rule (2) except in case of emergency.
(4) The service provider who sends the insured and the remittance service provider shall keep the registration and discharge of such insured and other details safe.
(5) The service provider shall inform the insured before starting the service about the amount of estimated expenses that may be incurred while providing the service.
(6) The service provider shall provide services to the insured in accordance with the standards determined by the Ministry. But until such a "criterion" is made, services can be provided according to the prevailing treatment code (protocol) protocol.
(7). The service provider who provides specialist services, when providing the initial service to the insured, must follow the disease identification selection process and provide the service.
