In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,–
(a) "Council" means the Nepal Engineering Council established as per Section 3.
(b) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Council.
(B1) "Vice-Chairman" means the Vice-Chairman of the Council.
(c) "Member" shall mean a member of the Council and the term also refers to the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Member-Secretary of the Council.
(d) "Engineer" means a person who has obtained at least a bachelor's degree in engineering from an educational institution recognized by the council.
(e) "Engineering profession" means a profession adopted by engineers who have acquired technical knowledge and skills in the subjects mentioned in the schedule.
(f) "Registration book" means the registration book prepared in accordance with section 15.
(g) "Registered engineer" means an engineer whose name is registered in the register book.
(h) "Registrar" means the person appointed under section 27.
(i) "Committee" means the examination committee constituted under section 14.
(j) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
