In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,–
(a) "Council" means the Nepal Pharmacy Council established as per Section 3.
(b) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Council.
(c) "Member" means a member of the Council and the term includes the Chairman of the Council.
(d) "Medicine" means medicine as per the Medicines Act, 2035.
(e) "Pharmacist" means a person who has obtained at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in pharmacy from a recognized educational institution.
(f) "Pharmacy Assistant" means a person who has obtained at least a certificate or equivalent qualification in pharmacy subject from a recognized educational institution.
(g) "Pharmacy business" means drug production, maintaining quality, inspection and recommendation of drug factories, selection of technology for storage and supply of manufactured drugs, supervision of supply, registration of drugs and business of verifying that drugs are useful, quality, effective and safe to consume. It should be remembered that the word also refers to hospital pharmacy.
(h) "Registered pharmacist" means a pharmacist whose name is registered in the register book.
(i) "Registered Pharmacy Assistant" means a Pharmacy Assistant whose name is registered in the Register Book.
(j) "Registration book" shall mean the registration book prepared in accordance with section 15.
(k) "Registrar" means a person appointed or appointed under section 26.
(l) "Subject Committee" shall mean the Subject Committee constituted as per Section 32.
(d) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
