: In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,-
(a) "Foreign employment" shall mean employment obtained by workers abroad.
(b) "Employee" means a Nepali citizen who gets foreign employment.
(c) "Foreign employment business" means a business conducted to provide employment to Nepali citizens abroad.
(d) "Department" means Foreign Employment Department. (D1) "Ministry" means the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security. (e) "Institution" means an organization established in accordance with the prevailing Companies Act to conduct foreign employment business.
(f) "Licence" shall mean the license granted in accordance with Section 11 to conduct foreign employment business.
(g) "Licensee" shall mean an organization which has received a license in accordance with Section 11.
(h) "Service fee" means the amount charged by the foreign employment business for sending workers abroad.
(i) "Executive Director" shall mean the Executive Director as per section 41.
(j) "Employer organization" means an organization located abroad that provides employment to workers abroad.
(k) "Board" means the Foreign Employment Promotion Board constituted under section 38.
(l) "Labor Assistant" shall mean labor assistant appointed as per Section 68 and that term also refers to the authorized staff assigned the responsibility of promoting the interests of Nepali workers in diplomatic missions abroad.
(d) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
