In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,-
(a) "Road" means a public road as per the Public Roads Act, 2031.
(b) "Board" means the road board established in accordance with section 3.
(c) "Duty" means the duty imposed under section 6.
(d) "Vehicle" means a vehicle propelled by mechanical power on the road.
(e) "Maintenance" means maintenance of the road to meet the standards set by the board.
(f) "Road related body" means the body responsible for road maintenance and the term also refers to the local body.
(g) "Fuel" means petrol and diesel used in vehicles and the term also refers to gas or other fuels.
(h) "Committee" means the Executive Committee constituted as per Section 8.
(i) "Executive Director" means the Executive Director of the Board appointed as per section 21.
(j) "Ministry" means Government of Nepal, Ministry of Physical Planning and Construction (k) "Fund" means the fund of the Board as per Section 24.
(l) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means as prescribed or prescribed in the rules or regulations made under this Act.
