2. Definitions

Unless the context or context requires otherwise, in these regulations, –

(a) “Act” means the National Broadcasting Act, 2049.
(b) "Permit" shall mean the permission granted to establish satellite and cable television satellite broadcasting center in accordance with sub-section (2) of section 9 of the Act and by that word, the permission granted for downlinking of program and signal distribution as per rule 6

(c) “Other media” means media other than satellite and cable and the term includes Multichannel Multipoint Distribution System (MMDS), Online Television, Over the Top: (OTT), Video on Demand (VOD), also refers to optical fiber transmission systems or Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) systems.”

(c1) “Downlink” means the act of downlinking a program broadcast by satellite for the purpose of transmission through a local distribution system or through a satellite distribution system.

(c2) “local distribution system” It means a system that distributes programs broadcasted from satellite or satellite broadcasting centers to consumers in a specific area using cable, multichannel multipoint distribution system or similar distribution systems.

(c3) "Satellite distribution system" "" means the system of distributing programs to consumers through satellite broadcasting centers established in Nepal, and that term also refers to the work of distributing programs directly to consumers through KU band satellites (direct to home)."
