1. Background
It is undeniable that science and technology play an important role in the overall development of every country. But it has not been sufficiently developed and used in Nepal. Therefore, it has become inevitable to contribute effectively to the all-round development of the country by developing competitive capabilities through the development and timely use of knowledge, science and technology available in the national and international fields. The national resolution of comprehensive development cannot be fulfilled without timely policies and plans. The necessary technology can be adopted to meet the needs of development and the production of scientists and engineers can be accelerated, but it has become clear that the basic basis of success is the reasonable replacement of the adopted science and technology, and the continuous increase in original creativity for promotion. In order to enhance national capacity, it has become essential to mobilize the infrastructure to the maximum for the development and utilization of manpower, resources and tools related to science and technology in the country. Considering this fact, the activities of governmental and non-governmental agencies and organizations involved in science and technology research and development, teaching, training, management, service provision, etc. are coordinated in a specific direction to achieve the expected goals of the nation, contemporary with the National Science and Technology Policy, 2046. Since it is necessary to make, the Government of Nepal has issued this "Science and Technology Policy, 2061".
