Section 124
Punishment
: (1) If anyone commits an offense under Section 122, he shall be punished as follows:-
(a) For offenses under clauses (a), (c), (d) and (th) to imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and to fine which may extend to one lakh rupees,
(b) for an offense under clause (l), to imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years and to a fine which may extend to two lakhs of rupees,
(c) Imprisonment up to three years with a fine of Rs. (d) Failure to comply with clauses (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (j), (j), (t), (n) and (t) shall be fined accordingly. will be imprisoned as follows:-
(1) Imprisonment for up to one year if defrauded up to ten lakh rupees,
(2) Imprisonment from two years to three years if breached by more than ten lakh rupees up to fifty lakh rupees,
(3) Imprisonment for three years to four years in case of breach of more than fifty lakh rupees up to one crore rupees,
(4) Imprisonment for four years to six years in case of breach of more than one crore rupees up to ten crore rupees,
(5) Imprisonment from six years to eight years in case of corruption exceeding ten million rupees up to one billion rupees,
(6) Imprisonment from eight years to ten years regardless of the amount of rupees exceeding one billion rupees,
(e) Imprisonment for up to ten years for the offense of clause (d).
(2) A person who commits an offense under section 122 or assists in the commission of such an offense shall be punished with half of the punishment imposed on the principal offender.
(3) If there is any agency or organization that commits an offense under section 122 or assists in committing such an offense, the chief executive or officer of such agency or organization or the person performing the work in an executive capacity shall be punished in accordance with this Act.
