Section 7
Right of protection
(1) Every child shall have the right to proper care, protection, nurture and love from his father, mother, other family members or guardians.
(2) Parents shall have equal responsibility for the care, protection and upbringing of children. In the event that the parents are divorced or living apart for any other reason, both parents will have to bear the cost of raising the children according to their financial capacity.
(3) No father, mother, other family member or guardian shall leave or abandon his children or children under his guardianship.
(4) Children with disabilities, victims of conflict, displaced, at risk or living on the streets will have the right to receive special protection as determined by the state for a secure future.
(5) Every child shall have the right to be protected against all kinds of physical or mental violence and torture, harassment, inhuman treatment, sexual or physical abuse, sexual abuse and exploitation by their father, mother, other family members or guardians, teachers and other persons. .
(6) Every child shall have the right to be protected from economic exploitation and shall have the right to be protected from any act that harms the child or hinders their education or harms their health, physical, mental, moral, social development.
(7) No child shall be recruited into the army, police or armed groups and used directly or indirectly for armed conflict or political purposes.
(8) No one shall attack or obstruct the operation and management of any place, service or facility used for the welfare of children, including schools, under any pretext of armed conflict or any adverse situation.
(9) Children below the age of fourteen shall not be employed in hazardous work or employed as domestic workers or maids.
(10) Government of Nepal, state government and local level can adopt necessary measures for the protection of children and make standards and implement them.
