(1) An employee who has completed sixty years of age or who has completed the term of office as per Section 19 shall automatically retire from service.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), if expert service is essential to the Government of Nepal, the employee who retires after completing sixty years may be extended a maximum period of three years.
(3) According to the Civil Service Act, 2049, prior to the implementation of this Act, the employees who have completed thirty years of service and who are currently employed according to this Act may also remain employed in the health service until they reach the age of sixty years.
(4) For the purpose of this section, the age of the employee shall be calculated as follows:-
(a) Age from the date of birth or the year entered in the certificate of the educational institution submitted by him at the time of joining the service,
(b) If there is no record as per Clause (a), the age from the date of birth or the year written in the personal job description (citroll) when he entered the service.
