Section 47
Gratuity

(1) An employee who has been in the health service for five years or more, but has not reached the period of pension, will receive gratuity at the following rate if he retires or resigns after accepting his resignation, or if he is removed from his position without being disqualified for the purpose of health service in the future:-
(a) Employees who have been reinstated in the health service for five to ten years, the last half month's salary for each year of service.
(b) Employees who have been reinstated in the health service for more than ten years for fifteen years, the last one month's salary for each year of service,
(c) Employees who have been reinstated in the health service for more than fifteen years and less than twenty years, the last one and a half month's salary for each year of service.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), if it is proved that citizenship, age or qualifications have been falsified for the purpose of remaining in the health service or obtaining such service, such employee will not be given gratuity and will be punished according to the prevailing law.
