Section 10
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Commission

The functions, duties and powers of the Commission shall be as follows –
(a) In connection with making new laws or amending existing laws or conducting studies and researches on contemporary issues related to law and justice,
(b) To prepare the draft of the necessary code for the codification of the law and submit it to the Government of Nepal,
(c) Consolidate or revise existing laws and give necessary suggestions to the Government of Nepal in this regard (d) Submitting a draft with explanatory notes to the Government of Nepal in relation to making new laws and amending existing laws as necessary,
(e) To study the currently unused, conflicting, unequal, discriminatory, against human rights and unenforceable laws and submit suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the repeal, amendment or review of such laws,
(f) To draft or suggest to the Government of Nepal to incorporate the provisions of international treaties and agreements into the existing laws as necessary,
(G) To consult, discuss and interact with related agencies or organizations as needed in relation to the formulation, codification, integration, review, reform and development of laws or cooperate with related agencies or organizations in this regard,
(h) obtaining the services of experts for the study and research and drafting of particular types of legislation,
(i) Collecting public opinion and opinion suggestions as needed in the law-making process,
(j) Conducting programs such as conferences, seminars and interactions as required in order to revise the draft of the law,
(k) Communicating with law commissions and law-making bodies of other countries and exchanging necessary information and information,
(l) To study whether the law is in accordance with the principle propounded by the Supreme Court and if it is not found to be in accordance with it, to submit a draft to the Government of Nepal regarding drafting, repealing and revising the law,
(d) To prepare the annual program of the Commission,
(d) Doing other work related to law and justice as determined by the Government of Nepal and deemed necessary by the Commission.
