Section 9
Who can file a complaint
(1) If the information officer does not provide information, refuses to provide information, partially provides information or gives wrong information or does not provide information that he is not interested, the concerned person may file a complaint before the chief within seven days from the date of not receiving such information or receiving partial information.
(2) When investigating the complaint received under sub-section (1), if it is found that the information has not been given or the information has been partially given or wrong information has been given, the chief shall order the information officer to provide the information as requested by the petitioner and if so ordered, the information officer shall provide the information to the concerned petitioner.< br> (3) During the investigation according to subsection (2), if it is found that the information officer knowingly or maliciously did not give information, refused to give information or partially gave information or gave false information, the chief may take departmental action against such information officer according to the prevailing law.
(4) If it appears that it is not possible to give notice during the investigation according to sub-section (2), the head shall make a decision on the matter and give the information to the applicant along with the reason thereof.
