(1) No one shall establish or operate an industry without registering the industry in accordance with this Act.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), the industries registered and operating in accordance with the prevailing industrial business laws at the time of commencement of this Act shall not be required to re-register the industries in accordance with this Act.
(3) The industries established as branch industries before the commencement of this Act shall be registered as a separate industry within one year after the commencement of this Act.
(4) If an enterprise wants to produce its product or any part of it from a place different from the place where the industry was previously located, or if the industry does not want to be registered as a separate industry within the period specified in sub-section (3), such branch enterprise can be established and operated as a unit industry.
(5) When establishing a unit in accordance with sub-section (4), except for registration in accordance with this Act, the same procedure as in case of establishing a new industry shall be completed.
(6) Records of the production and transactions of the unit as per sub-section (4) shall be prepared and kept by the concerned unit and such records shall also be sent to the head office of the industry.
