In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,-
(a) "Utchog" means an industry under section 17;
(b) "Industrial Registration Authority" means the Department and the term also refers to the department or office of the Government of the State in charge of industrial administration.
(c) "Single Point Service Centre" means a Single Point Service Center under section 37;
(d) "Business" means the production and distribution of goods or services by an industry in accordance with its purpose and the word also refers to other transactions related to such production and distribution.
(e) "Fund" means the fund under section 51.
(f) "Domestic industry" means an industry under clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 17.
(g) "Large industry" means an industry as referred to in clause (e) of sub-section (1) of section 17.
(h) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
(j) "Export-oriented" means an industry which exports not less than forty percent of its production, excluding textile industries.
(People) "Board" means the Industrial and Investment Promotion Board constituted under section 20.
(k) "Intellectual property" shall mean intellectual property including patents, designs, trademarks, service marks, geographical indications, trade secrets, and the term shall also refer to matters defined as copyright by applicable law.
(l) "Medium industry" means an industry as per clause (d) of sub-section (1) of section 17.
(d) "Ministry" means the Ministry of the Government of Nepal dealing with matters related to industry.
(l) National priority industry” means industry as per section 19.
(n) "Laghu Ucham" means an industry under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 17.
(s) "Department" means the department of the concerned department.
(h) "small scale industry" means an industry as referred to in clause (c) of sub-section (1) of section 17.
(d) "Fixed capital" means property as per section 18.
