Rule 119
gratuity

(1) A permanent teacher who has been employed for five years or more but has not yet reached the age of retirement will receive gratuity at the following rate if he retires or if he leaves the school education service by accepting his resignation or if he is removed from the school education service without being disqualified for future educational employment:-
(a) For teachers who have been employed for five to ten years, the last half month's salary for each year of service,
(b) Teachers who have been employed for more than ten years for fifteen years, the last one month's salary for each year of service,
(c) For teachers who have been employed for more than fifteen years until the completion of twenty years, the last one and a half month's salary for each year of their work.
(2) If a teacher dies without receiving the gratuity, if the teacher wishes any member of his family, such person and the person who wished also dies, or if no one wishes, the next of kin of the teacher will receive the gratuity.
