Rule 83
Medical treatment expenses
: (1) During the period of service, the armed police personnel have received an allowance equal to twelve months if they are gazetted rank armed police officers, eighteen months if they are gazetted first class armed police officers and twenty one months if they are other gazetted and unranked armed police officers. Up to the amount of salary will be paid for medical expenses.
(2) If an armed police officer or a member of his family falls ill, the following expenses shall be paid without increasing the amount to be received under sub-rule (1):-
(a) The cost of medicines purchased in accordance with the prescription obtained during the examination by an approved physician for the treatment of disease,
(b) Billed expenses incurred during admission and treatment in a health institution,
(c) Expenses recommended by the head of the concerned office, in the case of the head of the office, by the head of the taluk office, and in the case of the Inspector General of Armed Police, by the secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, for treatment in hospitals and places where there is no approved doctor,
(d) Expenditure as per the bill incurred for all types of surgical operations except plastic surgery,
(e) When leaving his home or camp and going to another district or abroad for medical treatment, the full amount of the transportation expenses of the patient and up to one person in case of need for medical treatment while reaching such place and returning, seventy five of the daily allowance received by the sick armed police personnel according to the rules. Percentage amount. Explanation: For the purpose of this sub-rule, "Approved Physician" means a doctor, Kaviraj, Health Assistant or Vaidya who is in government service or registered as a physician under the prevailing law.
(3) If an armed police officer who has been injured in the course of government work and is unable to receive medical treatment in Nepal for such an injury, the medical board constituted by the Government of Nepal has recommended that if he wishes to go abroad for treatment, the Government of Nepal may give him additional financial assistance as deemed appropriate.
(4) To be received in accordance with this ruleIf an armed police officer wants to take the medical expenses as an advance and if the reason is considered reasonable, then the advance can be given by submitting the account after being subject to this rule. If the amount submitted in such a way exceeds the amount to be paid for medical expenses, the excess amount will be deducted from the salary of the concerned armed police personnel in installments. If the amount to be deducted is not paid and the concerned armed police personnel or their family members who have been treated in this way dies, the remaining amount to be deducted will be forfeited.
(5) The armed police personnel who are separated from the service in other circumstances, except for being disqualified for government service in the future, will be entitled to receive the remaining amount in lump sum, whether or not they receive some of the treatment expenses received during the service period.
(6) Armed police personnel who have completed twenty years, twenty-five years or more of service and are separated from the service will receive a lump sum of ten, fifteen and twenty percent respectively of the amount remaining to be taken for medical expenses according to sub-rule (5).
(7) If an armed police officer is dismissed from the service for any other reason, except for the case where he has been dismissed before the service period of ten years has been completed, his son-in-law shall be given medical expenses according to this rule.
(8) In accordance with this rule, armed police personnel will not be given more than one and a half month's salary in one year, unless they are admitted to a health institution or have to go abroad for treatment. When claiming such treatment expenses, the doctor's prescription stating the diagnosis of the disease must also be submitted.
(9) If a member of the family of an armed police officer falls ill and goes abroad for treatment, or if he is admitted to a hospital in the country for treatment, the expenses incurred in the hospital as per the bill and the medical treatment expenses incurred as per the prescription of the hospital doctor shall be the sum of 90%.According to rule (2), the police personnel will receive from the amount.
(10) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rules (8) and (9), if the family member of the armed police personnel who is required to undergo treatment is an employee in the government service or in the service of an organization owned or controlled by the government, such treatment shall not be paid for.
(11) In accordance with this rule, the statement of medical expenses received by the armed police personnel shall be kept in the personal records of the armed police personnel by the expense recording office and sent to the armed police library.
(12) If an armed police officer or his family in a remote area falls ill and cannot be treated at a local health center and is in a life-threatening situation, if recommended by the district hospital or health center, the government of Nepal will pay the expenses incurred in taking them to a place where treatment is available and returning them from there. br> (13) Armed police personnel who demand or receive treatment expenses in accordance with this rule by submitting false claims and approved doctors (if employees) who prove such false claims will be subject to departmental action. If the treatment expenses have been taken, that amount will also be recovered from such armed police personnel.
