(1) The work, duties and powers of the Council shall be as follows:-
(a) To give recognition to the medical college where medical studies are taught and trained as prescribed.
(B) If it is determined that the conditions of admission and examination system of the medical college that provides training for medical studies are not in accordance with the prescribed policies and other necessary infrastructure and standards, the registration and approval will be revoked.
(c) To determine the policy necessary to run the medical business smoothly.
(e) To prepare a code of conduct for doctors as prescribed and to take action as prescribed against the doctor who violates such code of conduct and remove his name from the register book. Before granting permission to establish and operate, the council will seek consultation with the council and only if the council finds that such medical college has met the standards and infrastructure as per clause (b) of sub-section (1), then the council will give consultation regarding the approval to establish and operate the medical college. And on the basis of such consultation of the Council, the Government of Nepal will approve the establishment and operation of the Medical College.
