(1) If the position of the Chairman is vacant or if the Chairman is unable to perform the work of the Council for any reason, the Government of Nepal may appoint a member of the Council to act as acting Chairman for a maximum period of one year.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (1), if the chairman is nominated, the duties of the acting chairman shall automatically end if the former chairman is unable to function.
